Call for Papers
The 2006 edition of the SEBD Symposium will take place in Portonovo (Ancona) from the 18th to the 21st of June 2006 and will be dedicated to the memory of
Prof. Maurizio Panti.
Currently at its 14th edition, SEBD is the major annual event of the Italian research community in the database field. The symposium is thought as a gathering forum to meet, discuss and exchange experiences among all those, both in the academy and in industry, who are interested in database systems and in all their broad range of applications.
Topics
The conference covers a broad range of topics, including traditional database management, as well new challenges for data management, in any possible domain. Prospective authors are encouraged to consider novel topics and approaches rather than proposing incremental improvements of existing results.Suggested topics include the following:

Papers
SEBD 2006 invites submissions of research, industry and application contributions as well as software demonstrations. Research papers, describing original ideas on the fundamental aspects of all forms of database systems and technology, are solicited. Moreover, extended abstracts containing descriptions of on-going projects or presenting results already published are also welcomed. Research papers presenting original works should be at most 12 pages long whereas extended abstracts should be at most 8 pages long. Papers can be written in English or Italian.
Accepted papers and extended abstracts will be published in the proceedings of the symposium.
SEBD 2006 submissions must be in electronic form in PDF format. Papers must be formatted using the Lecture Notes in Computer Science style available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. Papers must be submitted electronically, please follow the instructions that can be found on the Web site of the symposium at http://www.sebd.org/2006/index.html.
"MAURIZIO PANTI" Award
In memory of Maurizio Panti, the best paper authored only by PhD student(s) presenting the results of PhD research activities in the fields covered topics will receive an award.
