The aim of this paper is to present an architecture of heterogeneous and distributed data integration based on mediation for e-learning systems. These systems will be able to focus on complex problems related to e-learning as tutoring, evaluation, communication. To this end, a mediation-based architecture to access to XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and relational resources is presented. This architecture also uses XML for mediation schema (global schema) and Xquery as query language.
