We present a novel approach to transforming a relational database schema into an object database schema. This approach is based on an analysis of key, data and attribute correlations, as well as their combination. It has substantial advantages over the existing approaches in that: (1) it allows us to extract more semantics embedded within a relational database schema, and (2) it requires less user interaction, which is mainly required to confirm the extracted semantics and give them names.
